Lindsay Ministerial Alliance

The Lindsay Ministerial Alliance is a non-profit organization composed of Lindsay community churches.  Our present member churches include First Assembly of God Church (Lindsay), First Baptist Church (Lindsay), Erin Springs Baptist Church (Erin Springs), Calvary Baptist Church (Lindsay), First Christian Church (Lindsay), First Church of God (Erin Springs), St. Peter's Catholic Church (Lindsay) and Lindsay United Methodist Church (Lindsay).   Our LMA Vice President is John Geffre and Secretary-Treasurer is Chris Stinnett.  Mrs, Sheryl Kochert serves as our volunteer bookkeeper.

Our newly elected President of Lindsay Ministerial Alliance, who assumes leadership in January, is Pastor Bryan Shaw of First Baptist Church of Erin Springs.  Membership is open to each and all religious organizations, churches and fellowships who wish to share in cooperative ministries and community services to affirm the principles and faith that reflect the spirit of Jesus of Nazareth and the biblical foundations for a caring community.  ALL of our funds for ministries and community services are DONATIONS from member churches, community residents and civic, business and community organizations.

ALL members of LMA VOLUNTEER our time in the efforts of providing assistance to local Lindsay residents, including rural citizens and occasional transient individuals who require emergency help.  Assistance takes the form of food, medications, limited utilities, limited lodging and emergency fuel.  Our LMA has a structured 'screening process' among our member churches for potential recipients to prevent duplication of emergency services and to encourage independence.

The Lindsay Ministerial Alliance, in 2005, has contributed $3, 274.42 to aid and assist over 60 community residents in need of emergency help.   Our LMA purchased and provided a personalized imprinted Holy Bible to each graduating senior ($639. 36) this spring at the annual Senior Baccalaureate Service which is sponsored by the Lindsay Ministerial Alliance.  We also provided $75 to assist Senior Sponsors in organizing activities for our graduating seniors.  Our member churches provided donations of $1,074.47 to support our Annual Student Reach Ministry Event at the Lindsay High School.  Our LMA deeply appreciates the cooperative and considerate spirit of our Lindsay Independent School District and Superintendent Doyle Greteman, Principals and Teachers.  We hope to be able to continue these ministries for our community if donations allow.  Our Post Office box expense and our business checks ($75.92) are the only expenses that were not used for community services.  All of the above LMA 2005 expenses totaled $5,139.17.  Our present bank balance is $ 423.01.

We are deeply grateful and appreciative to the local Lindsay businesses that have been generous in your considerations of your contributions to our cooperative ministry services, worship services and community programs.   The support of the following businesses, community leaders and inspiring individuals of our community services in your contributions to our LMA in past years have been most helpful and significant:  American Exchange Bank, Dr. Mike Boeckman, B.G. Boydston Funeral Home, Neva June Bullock, Clements Insurance Agency, Corner Café, The Cottage Mini Mall, Cut Loose, Eubank's Western Corner, Evan & Sons, Inc., Farm Bureau Insurance, First National Bank, Freewill Baptist Church, Geffre's Home Furnishings, Goodner's Supermarket, Grassland Farm & Ranch, Hall Transport, Hammer Consruction, International Golf Discount, KBLP Radio, Lindsay Elks Lodge, Lindsay Ford, Lindsay Gauge and Instrument, Lindsay Tag Agency, Lindsay Wal-Mart, Local Oklahoma Bank, Lori Ann's, Oklahoma Rural Internet, Ranch House Restaurant, REC, Shahan Therapy Center, Somer's Insurance Agency, Tabor's Drug, Tucker Constructions, Inc., Washita Sign Company, Weatherford, M&M Supply and Williamson Department Store.

We appreciate those businesses that allow us to use your services in our voucher program of emergency services and help: Goodner's Grocery, Super C Grocery, Trend Motel, Steve Hall Oil, Tabor's Drug and WalMart Pharmacy.  We appreciate greatly our Lindsay Public Works Authority, Oklahoma Natural Gas, Rural Electric Coop and our Rural Water District II for working with us as we seek to help with emergency needs for families in our community.

Our member churches also share in providing special events for our community in the form of Weekly Worship Services at our Lindsay Manor Nursing Center at 3:00pm each Sunday.  For our community youth our LMA churches provide, fund and host completely, from their own individual churches, all the volunteers and resources for the Prayer Breakfasts and Prayer Lunches held monthly at the Lindsay School facilities.

We look forward to worshipping with you.

Blessings and Peace,

Dan J. Frisby, Pastor
